GRP Scrubber

Introduction:
An GRP scrubber is a device that purifies waste gas using the principle of liquid scrubbing. Its tower body and main internal components are all made of fiberglass reinforced plastic (FRP). This material uses flame-retardant vinyl unsaturated resin as the matrix and alkali-free untwisted glass fiber as the reinforcing material, and is integrally formed through mechanical winding or hand lay-up processes.
The equipment typically adopts a circular tower structure, consisting of a liquid storage tank, air inlet section, spray layer, packing layer, and cyclone demister layer. Its core working principle is gas-liquid countercurrent contact: waste gas enters from the bottom of the tower and moves upwards; a circulating water pump sends the absorbent liquid (such as water or acid/alkali neutralization solution) to the top of the tower for spraying, spraying downwards. The waste gas comes into contact with the fully wetted packing surface in the gaps of the packing layer, undergoing physical absorption or chemical reaction. The purified gas is dehydrated by the demister layer and discharged at high altitude.
Features:
- Excellent Corrosion Resistance:
Fiberglass reinforced plastic (FRP) material itself possesses extremely high chemical stability, capable of withstanding corrosion from various strong acids and alkalis, including hydrochloric acid (HCl), sulfuric acid (H₂SO₄), hydrofluoric acid (HF), sodium hydroxide (NaOH), and chlorine (Cl₂). Unlike traditional carbon steel towers that require frequent anti-corrosion maintenance, FRP scrubbing towers fundamentally eliminate the "running, leaking, dripping, and seeping" phenomena caused by corrosion.
- Lightweight and High-Strength, Easy to Install:
The density of FRP is only 1/5 to 1/4 that of traditional steel, making the equipment more convenient to transport and install. It is particularly suitable for rooftop or space-constrained renovation projects, eliminating the need for large lifting equipment and reducing installation costs.
- Highly Efficient Purification, High Removal Rate:
The tower is typically designed with two or more layers of packing (such as stepped rings or Pall rings), providing a large specific surface area, sufficient gas-liquid contact, and high mass transfer efficiency. Neutralization solutions can be flexibly combined for different waste gas compositions.
- Scientific Structural Design and Simple Operation:
The equipment adopts segmented flange connections, facilitating maintenance and transportation. A high-efficiency demister is equipped at the top of the tower, effectively intercepting water mist and reducing water carryover in the chimney. Simultaneously, the equipment has a low pressure drop, high operational flexibility, and can adapt to continuous or intermittent operation under different airflow conditions, with minimal maintenance workload.
- Good Integrity and Long Service Life:
The fiberglass material can be integrally molded in one piece, eliminating the risk of leakage at seams. Combined with an anti-aging gel coat resin outer layer, the equipment has strong weather resistance, unaffected by winter and summer climate changes, and can have a service life of over 20 years under normal maintenance.

Application:
Chemical and Pharmaceutical Industries: Treating highly corrosive gases such as hydrogen chloride, sulfur dioxide, and chlorine generated during the production of pesticides and pharmaceutical intermediates.
Electroplating and Surface Treatment: Effectively collecting and treating chromic acid mist, sulfuric acid mist, and nitrogen oxides (NOx) generated from electroplating production lines and pickling tanks.
Wastewater and Waste Treatment: Suitable for treating malodorous gases such as hydrogen sulfide, ammonia, and mercaptans generated in urban wastewater treatment plants' pumping stations, screen wells, sludge dewatering rooms, as well as waste transfer stations and landfills.
Exhaust Gas Deodorization: Combining spray washing and oxidation neutralization, it can quickly remove organic odors generated from livestock farms and food processing plants.
